Thursday 3-22-12

We finished the notes up in class today and I handed out the review for the quiz tomorrow.  Here is a helpful review for that quiz tomorrow.

1) The 3 functions are: the systems gathers information referred as the sensory input, next the system interprets the information in the spinal cord or the brain referred to as integration, lastly the system sends the signal back to the motor neurons attached to the skeletal muscles allowing the reaction to happen.

Wednesday 3-21-12

The students started on the Nervous System notes and will finish them Thursday.  You can get that power point from my web site tomorrow.

We will also be grading 15-1 and 15-2 tomorrow in class as well.

Tuesday 3-20-12

I was not there today.  I assigned the students to work on 15-1 and 15-2 of the workbook.  It will be due Thursday.

Monday's Class 3-19-12

Today the students viewed Bill Nye: Brain.  They had to write 15 facts over the video.  I passed out a concept map handout for the students to complete and put into their new science spirals on pg. 2.

Tuesday 3-6-12

The students had another whole day in class to work on their 3rd nine weeks project in class.  I informed them that anything not completed during that time would be homework and is due tomorrow.

Monday 3-5-12

Today the students began their 3rd 9 weeks exam project.  They will have today and tomorrow to work on it during class and will present those Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday 3-2-12

The students took the digestive system quiz today.  We graded them and the average of the three quizzes we have taken over the past couple of weeks will be entered as a summative (test) grade.

Thursday 3-1-12

Today we graded 11-2 and 11-3 of the student's science workbook. Then the students worked on a diagram of the digestive system and had to go through and explain the different parts and what they do to food as it travels through it.

Wednesday 2-29-12

I was not here today so I had the students complete and turn in 11-2 and 11-3 of their science workbooks. It will be due and grade tomorrow in class.

Tuesday 2-28-12

We went over the notes for the digestive system.  Again they are posted in my school website for you to print off.
