Today the students and I discussed density and I did a teacher demonstration showing the students whether a diet coke or regular coke would float.

The students and I discussed states of matter today.  We discussed how matter can change from one state to the other.  We then started watching a video over physical properties of matter where the students were required to write down 10 facts from the video.

Todaty the students took notes over Physical Properties.  We did not complete them and will have to Thursday.

I will not be here Wednesday and the students will be working on a chapter overview of physical properties while I am out.

Today the students took a science benchmark.  It was difficult becasue the students have not been exposed to the information in it yet.  We will be taking that benchmark a few more times throughout the year and the results should get considerably better.

Today the students and I went over the science lab safety rules agian and the students had to come up wit hreason for why the rules were in place.  Afterwards the students watched a video over lab safety.

Today the students put together their science notebooks that they will be using throughout the year.  They were also given a science safety contract that they need to get signed by their parents and returned to me before Friday.

Today the students viewed the science lab and made a map of it.  They also wrote down safety rules and we explained them.
