Monday's Class 9-26-11
Today the class worked on a handout titled "Energy Flow in Ecosystems Review". They had the entire class period to work on it and it will be due Tuesday at the beginning of class.
Friday's Class 9-23-11
Today the class took notes over Food Chains and Food Webs and the energy transfer that occurs in them.

Thursday's Class 9-22-11
Today we made observations of our plants in our interactive notebooks. We then watched and took a quiz over the Bill Nye video about food chains.

Wednesday's Class 9-21-11
Today we took notes over Biomass. The students proceeded to work on a review worksheet over the notes that will be due tomorrow at the beginning of class. The Power Point Presentation is on my official school website. You can find a link to that if you scroll down further into the blog.
Tuesday's Class 9-20-11
The students took a test today over Unit 1 and 2 covering Science Safety, Metric Measurements, and Photosynthesis. I will have those test graded as soon as possible and entered into the grade book.
Monday's Class
Monday we went over the review given to the students last Friday. We also viewed the Bill Nye video over Plants and Photosynthesis.

Friday's Class 9-16-11
Students received the Study Review for the test that will be given next Tuesday. They were also given a progress report and told to get their parent/guardian to sign it and return it as soon as possible.

Plant Cell Key Vocabulary
Turger Pressure- main pressure of the cell contents against the cell wall.
Cell Wall- outermost tough and rigid layer of a cell
Vacuole- large membrane bound component in a cell, which stores water and other components
Chromatin- Stores cell genetic info
ER (Endoplasmic Reticulum)- manufactures compounds
Mitochondria- "Powerhouse of the cell" Breaks down sugars to use
