Today the students copied a diagram of the Water Cycle into their science notebooks. They then put some Water terms into the notes portion of the notebook.
Here is the diagram in case you were not able to finish it or were absent. It goes on pg. 24 of the science notebook.
Today the students completed a scavenger hunt of Weathering and Erosion terms and questions. They were to go around the room and ask different students questions from the handout. It was due at the end of class.
Today we did research on specific examples of catastrophic events throughout history. The students put this research on pg. 14 of their science spirals.
To get today's notes go to the link that is given on Wednesday's post and find the catastrophic event power point.
Today we finished up the unit 5 vocabulary and started on catastrophic events notes. Tomorrow we will have a quiz over the catastrophic events notes at the beginning of class.
Today we inserted some notes over catastrophic notes into our science spiral. We then started a powerpoint over unit 5 vocabulary and will continued that Wednesday as well.
If you would like to download that powerpoint and/or print it off for your use go to this link: Unit 5 Vocabulary Website
The students need to bring a new spiral starting tomorrow for the 2nd nine weeks. If no spiral is brought to class then the student will fall behind at the start and it will be hard for them to catch up.
Today we watched a video titles "Forces of Nature". The students were asked to write 15 facts about the video and give a brief summary of the video when it was over. The facts and summary were due at the end of class and picked up. The grade on the summary and facts will go towards the first grade of the 2nd 9 weeks.
Today I handed out the review for the 9 weeks exam. The class took the class period to go over that filling in the answers. I also told each student what their average was for the class and what they needed to make on their 9 weeks exam to either pass, stat the same, or move up a letter grade.
Complete the review and get your parent to sign it at the top of the first page for extra points on the 9 weeks exam.
*The review must be 100% completed and signed to get the points.
On pg.29 write a summary of your project
Describe why you made your shoebox the way you did.
Describe whether your plant did or did not grow and why you believe it did or did not grow.
Give a final analysis of the success of your shoebox maze.
This should be between 2 to 3 paragraphs long.

Today we finished our power point over Work. We then worked through a packet over work, that was due at the end of the class. The class then made their final observations of their plants. The final analysis was to write 2-3 paragraphs over the photosynthesis shoebox mazes in their interactive notebooks.
Today we graded 5-1 in the workbooks. We then took notes over Ch. 5 section 1. If you go to my school web site you can find it there titled "Ch. 5 Work and Machines".
