Today the students finished the lorax movie and will have to complete the questions I gave them for homework before the beginning of the next class.

They were also assigned vocabulary words for the next unit of study over experimental variables.

1.constant: variable that is not changed in an experiment
2.data: a collection of facts from which conclusions may be drawn
3.graph: a drawing illustrating the relations between certain quantities plotted with reference to a set of axes
4.Hypothesis: an explanation that is based on prior scientific research or observations and that can be tested
5.physical properties: the characteristics of a substance that can be observed or measured without changing the substance
6.questions: something asked in order to find out something
7.research: a careful study or investigation in order to learn facts
8.results: data and observations gathered from the experiment
9.solar: relating to or derived from the sun or utilizing the energies of the sun
10.variable: a factor that can change in an experiment

Today the students were given reviews for their exam tomorrow in class.  We worked on those together and then the students were given STAAR vocabulary to put into their science spirals so they could use for furture reference and study.

Today the students had to create an organism that had specific structures that would allow it to love in a specific habitat.

The guidelines for that were: 
                    * Draw the organism in that habitat.
                    * Write 2-3 papragraphs answering the following questions.
                               **define the structures thta help that organism survive, define the functions of those structures in detail, and describe the habitat that organism lives in.

Today the students and I viewed a video over the desert and the organisms that live there.  We then discussed and took a quiz over the adaptations it takes for those organisms to live in the desert.

Today the students and I finished the video we started Friday.  We then talked about structures and their functions of some of their favorite animals.

Today we watched a video fro mthe series "Planet Earth" over seasonal forest.  The students and I filled out a notes sheet while the video was playing.  We did not finish the video, but will finish it Monday.
