Today we started on a Sun, Earth and Moon Webquest.  We will be working on it until Thursday when it is due.  There are two parts: The handout and the power point.  Each is worth 50 points.

Today we graded the Unit 9 Review that was assigned Thursday.

We also did a fold able over the important vocabulary from Unit 10 that are located in the unit.  the four terms are REVOLVE, ORBIT, AXIS, ROTATE.

Today we finished watching the Mafic School Bus episode "Wet all over".  We then graded the handout that was given over it.

We started notes over the difference in Weather and Climate.  We didn't finish the notes, but will tomorrow.

We then started watching the Magic School Bus Episode "Wet all over".

The students are completing a video handout over the episode that will be graded when we are done.

Alternative Energy Project Requirements Etc.

Today we commonly use electrical energy to power our homes, schools  and businesses. however in order to produce electrical energy we are harming the environment and the quality of life for humans. In attempts to avoid these environmental issues, we are developing new sources of energy that are safer and cause less harm to the environment. These sources are called alternative energy resources.

For this project you will choose one of the following types of alternative energy sources to research:


  • Solar Energy
  • Geothermal Energy
  • Tidal Energy
  • Wind Energy
  • Biomass Energy

Requirements: 
You must research and answer the following questions (answers must be in your own words and in complete sentences).
  • Describe the alternative energy source.
  • Where is that energy produced?
  • How is that energy produced?
  • What are the advantages and disadvantages of this type of energy?
  • In your own words, explain why it is beneficial to use this type of energy.

You are acting as an energy advertising agency. 
Your task is to make a poster advertising your alternative energy. 
The poster must include a title, an advertisement, picture or pictures illustrating the energy source, and the answers to the questions that you researched. 
Remember you are trying to convince people that they should convert to these alternative forms of energy. 
Be creative and persuasive!!
