The past two days of class have been spent doing mid-term exams.

Today i allowed the students to complete test corrections from their test yesterday.  We then went over the material that would be on the mid-term exam.  I went through the powerpoint mentioned on the previous slide and answered all the questions from it.

Today the students took the "Changes to Earth's surface" Exam.  It will be graded and entered into the gradebook soon.

Friday December 14, 2012

Today the students and I played a review game for the exam Monday.  We went over every question on the review so the students should have their review completed so they can study.

Thursday December 13, 2012

I was not here today.  I had the students working on a review over "Changes to the Earth's Surface" .  I will be going over this review Friday when I get back.  I will also be posting a look at the answers to the questions posed on the review Friday afternoon on the blog.

The exam over this information will be Monday the 17th of December.

There will be an extra credit opportunity posted Friday afternoon as well so stay tuned.

Today the students and I finished up a graphic organizer over weathering and erosion we had begun last week.

Today the students finished up their notes and worksheets over glaciers.  I then reviewed the impact of ice and waves on landforms with the students.

I was not in the classrom today.  I had the students write notes over glaciers and the landforms that they create.

Today the students participated in the "Impact of Water" lab.

Today the students worked out of the workbook in class on pages 121 and 130.  It was due at the end of the class period and the students had the entire class period to work on it.

Today the students participated in the "How wind changes the Earth's surface" lab.

Today the students took the vocabulary quiz. Those are graded and the grades will be entered soon. We started a notes organizer over changes to the Earth's surface.

Changing Earth Vocabulary

Today the students and I went over the vocabulary terms that will be on the vocabulary quiz tomorrow.  We then review weathering and erosion for the upcoming unit over landforms.

Weathering is the breaking down of rocks, soils and minerals as well as artificial materials through contact with the Earth's atmosphere, biota and waters

Erosion is the process by which soil and rock are removed from the Earth's surface by natural processes such as wind or water flow, and then transported and deposited in other locations.
