Today the students finished the web quest and animation and took a quiz over sedimentary rocks and fossil fuel formation.

They were able to use their notes and science spirals on those.

Today we were in the computer lab exploring how coal and oil are formed.  They drew and wrote the information from the following website.

Both assignments are due by Thursday and the students were told they could work on them at home.

Monday December 15, 2014

Today the students wrote their lab reports over the lab we completed.

They were to write an introduction detailing why we did the lab and the objective of the lab.  Next they had to write a paragraph explaining what each station covered and what they learned at each station.  Lastly they were to write a conclusion that detailed at least 2 things they learned and 1 thing they are still unsure of.

The lab reports are due tomorrow.

Today we took a science spiral quiz and viewed a digital lesson on Weathering, erosion and deposition and the formation of sedimentary rocks.

Today we took the notecard quiz and watched the Bill Nye episode on rocks and soil.

Today we went over the power point on Weathering, Erosion, and Deposition.  I will post a link to that power point below.

WEATHERING, EROSION AND DEPOSITION POWER POINT NOTES

Tomorrow we will have a note-card quiz over the notes we took from the power point.
The question for the note-card quiz will be:

Today we created a fold able over light energy, reflection, refraction and lenses.  We also went over and answered the questions I asked them yesterday.  I handed out the reviews and informed the students that the exam over this unit will be Friday.

Today we graded a paper we had started before the Thanksgiving holidays.  I also tested their recollection of light and its properties through a series of questions that we will discuss tomorrow.
